CyanogenMod Nightly 08182011 has been released!

A new CyanogenMod nightly has been released. It's the first nightly to be released as promised in the last post. It fixes the following problems and carries the following updates:
  • Synced with CM repos
  • Fix for the audio routing bug
  • End of all WiFi problems (hopefully!)
  • Android 2.3.5!
This should only be downloaded by people who know what they are doing. DON'T download if you are new to Android / Ideos - please head over to the Gingerman page and download the ROM there instead. 

Please don't complain if something breaks in here - they are nightlies after all and are not meant to be stable - however if you do spot a bug, head over here to report it and I will try to get it fixed in the next build.

    Wow you did it, that's amazing thank you. Any change you can make it for the Huawei M835 for MetroPCS? The M835 is very similiar to the U8150 but not similiar enough for this ROM to work. Thanks again.

    Thanks, Still issues detecting and connecting to wifi at work. I will try it on my home NW tonight. I did not blow away all the cache settings when I installed the update. Perhaps there is something hanging on from V7?

    although it takes a bit longer to get onto wifi with hidden ssid, but it is still able to connect in this build. speaker sound with max vol is still a bit broken but this release works good for me! btw, i have changed to launcherpro for better home-screen transition effect, you guys may give it a try! again, this release is great! thanks!!

    can you please tell me what is the differents compare with Gingerman vs nightly builds.

    because i was using gingermen and now intsalled nightly builds but i am not feel any differents.

    @Anonymous: a nightly build is an automatically generated build based on source code in the revision control system (e.g. GIT, SVN).

    This means that the new nightly builds are not improved by the Ideos Dev Team, but they are based on an up-to-date version of (in this case) CyanogenMod that might either improve or break Gingerbread. By doing so we can use the latest and greatest version of CM on our phones without much effort from the Idoes Dev Team.

    Or more simplistic: if you look at the achievements of the Ideos Dev Team as a bunch of patches on CM, then the nightly build is just the result of applying these patches to the latest version of CM.

    The developer noticed that most of the problems we were having were caused by CM and not were not 'his' bugs. This can be seen in this nightly where the hidden SSID bug is fixed.

    PLEASE HELP!!!!! cant install it from the recovery .... gives error in zip file.. downloaded a fresh new copy doesnt work as well. currently iam using gingerman 6.5.1 and the sound is reaaaalllllyyy bad. please post a guide if u can ...... and fix the audio :)

    @ Fahady

    Looks like you already did the hardest part, all you really have to do is to copy the ROM that you downloaded from this site to the root of your U8150 SD Card, then open ROM Manager, click on Install ROM from SD Card, look for the ROM, then click OK to install, and let Clockworkmod do the rest, it will even reboot automatically when its done.

    Thanx for ur useful replay ..I was able to flash my Ideos U8150 to this fine looking version of Gingerman .. everything is working fine and audio + WiFi+ languages, no problems at all..

    but am having some issues :

    1- The Market was missing

    2- I wasn't able to add my google account even after i download the Market manually .. it alwas tell me to add the exchange mail address and stuff like that.

    3- The CRT Off effect disappeared after the first soft restart


    so Please tell me how can i fix this stuff because of this i can't enjoy downloading from the Market as before

    Thanks, tilal. Always fun to take a break from kernel hacking to flash one of your CM7 builds.

    Just flashed the nightly; my device doesn't boot unless I flash the multi-touch kernel (6.5.1-multitouch.zip). I know in the past you've said that shouldn't be so, but does that make sense?

    Glad to hear my instructions helped you install it. Looks like the problem you have now is that google apps is not in installed, which is by design because a license from Google is needed.

    Anyway to fix this, you need to download and install GAPPS.ZIP the same way that you install Cyanogenmod, which is to copy it to the SD Card then using CMW to install the ZIP.

    WIFI works! True broke the sound (not always play music through headphones, is treated rebooting) and camera (an error when accessed such applications as barcode scanner for example)

    Hey, nice ROM and all (personally, the best..), but I would really like to try that swap thing. 256mb RAM is a nightmare. I just hate when I read few pages on net, send a message, and it shuts the browser down. Than wait for it to redownload those pages.. :(

    So, is there a way to enable swap, like add something to kernel source or whatever..? Would be nice if it were enabled on next update.. (CuteEyes xD) I would prefer the lag compared to OS closing apps.

    I had a problem with wifi, turned off after 30 sec or so. my problem was trying to restore thru titanium backup.     I got problems with camera. It seems to me it can no more run any QR code programs. I have downloaded 4 different QR code and it can't even start the program.

    I have tried plugged-in my ear phone. However, sounds still go out from the speaker. Don't if it is just my problem.

    Another issue is I hope there will be Chinese input methods bundled never time.

    I experienced poor battery life on my u8150-d with this ROM. Something kept the phone awake most of the time. Perhaps an errant app, perhaps a problem with the ROM. Either way the problem disappeared when I reverted to Gingerman v6.5.1

    I see Lalit has been committing changes to the Cyanogenmod GIT repo. Perhaps the u8150 will be officially supported by Cyanogenmod soon. Good work.

    Note that my phone is a u8150-D. Perhaps you have a different model? To find the model number label remove the battery cover and take out the battery.

    @Greg - Thanks...but I had already tried that but it froze. I wiped out all factory details in the recovery mode and it finally worked. I think they should include the step of "wipe all factory details while in the recovery mode" so that it works for all of us!

    Am trying to include multitouch while still using this Rom and the Gingerman v7 Rom...is it possible?

    For those brave souls who like testing things, there are new developments on this ROM. Some U81x devs have been chatting/sharing code in the XDA thread and we've even fixed headphone audio.

    I've posted a vanilla CM7 nightly (from 21092011) here on XDA. Again, it's vanilla CM7, with no customization. It's using the multi-touch kernel, as my device is synaptics and doesn't boot with the other one (and I can't find the sources tilal was using for the kernel. tilal? help :).

    Good luck... and make a nandroid backup first!

    Meh, sorry... my nightly build with fixed audio isn't really fixed. Apparently I fucked up when I was building it and then I was struck by lightning and the headphones worked for a mere second. ;) Sorry!

    But still market missing and red button (hang off) is working as a lock is iritating , cant you put it back so does it if pressed gets back on home screen?

    @Rulez, go into Spare Parts in Apps list, then go into End Button Behaviour. Change it so the action is set to Go Home.
