FAQ for Gingerman

Why does the first boot take so long?
First boot  will take a long time as phone is building dalvik cache so please be patient.

Why does my phone boot loop (stuck at boot animation) with the 729 MHz kernel?
If you are getting boot loops with 729MHz kernel it may be too high for your phone so reflash to Gingerman and stick to it or flash multitouch.

    i cant download the zip folder through rom manager due to a "zip file is corrupted" error. Please provide detailed information on the manual installation. I really look forward to have gingermanv6.1. Thank you.

      erase your file in sd card/clockworkmod and download again

    u8150 Comet is not on the Flash clockworkmod recovery list. Do I select another device type? If so, which one?

    I've wrongly posted this in "Gingerman 6.5.1" so i'm reposting it here (with some adds)

    - if i try to connect to a wifi that is not the last one i've been connected to, either i wait up to 5 minutes to get a connection or i turn wifi on and off a couple of times and then get my connection..

    - in the clock app the weather frame is overlaying the clock one, so the time is half shown

    - when the phone get a connection the phone signal indicator turn green

    (but this is an awesome rom still)

    But I have a lot of problem with wifi with wpa2 it find my network, connect and disconnect like if it was in a loop.

    -Unable to obtain MAC Address, WiFi turns on and then turns off.
    -Android Market App fails to open

    Have reinstalled ROM few times - no success, Yet

    I've installed Gingerman v7 Multitouch kernel. First time, after installantion, multitouch worked fine in Opera Mini browser (but not in image gallery).

    After one reboot, multitouch doesn't seem to work.

    Initially I've tested multitouch in "Dev Tools/Pointer Location". Worked fine.

    But now, "Pointer Location" is showing only one touch point.

    Please guide me to resolve this.

    It's a pretty good rom, although it has two major flaws 1.Wifi does not work, either scanning or connecting or even manually creating wireless profiles does not work, wireless doesn't start, 2. also haptic feedback doesn't trigger when I press the soft buttons, a minor one I noticed is the numbers for the clock are two big for the screen and are therefore trimmed at portrait (might be a theme issue, and can easily be fixed), other than that, thanks and I hope you improve on the bleeding edge of the ROM's section for the U8150.

    The download links appear to be broken - v7 default is a broken dropbox link, and the multitouch one appears to be 6.5?

    Hello everybody.
    I have installed Gingerman v7 on my Ideos U8150 via Rom Manager (and ClockWork recovery). I liked it and all my data got easilyy, but wifi stopped working (could not find wifi MAC address). It was not good enough. So I tried multitouch kernel also. It worked for multitouch, but was not worked with wifi as well and couldn't find my data.
    So I backed up multitouch, then install regular mod again and after that restored only system from backed up multitouch. Rebooted, but don't get multitouch and data either, but! Magically wifi started working! I got my data back from backup of Titanium Backup and all works ok.

    I don't know if it would be helpfull.

    Hello ive installed gingerman but my phone is not booting it is not working under recovery mode also. The phone shows ideos image at booting and it stands still after many times please reply how to recover or solve this problem...

    idk if this is t-mobile error or phone error but u cant change call forwarding numbers u get a network and sim card error. also if u use built in messenger a lot it slows down the phone till it freezes after a while about 4 hours of texting maybe a memory leak?

    My phone wifi keeps on turning off by itself and before it wifi settings force closes....for thos guys who's phones are stuck in the booting screen can try to 'fix permissions' within ROM manager. That worked for me and i was able to boot into recovery
