  1. Two things, from me.

    a) doesn't including GAPPS put you at risk of being accused of copyright infringement? It might be in your interests to remove that.

    b) any progress on the barcodescanner/camera bug (barcode scanning programs bring down camera)? There was a fix posted in the bug tracker, but I haven't installed it, as I'd rather test *your* builds, rather than hack things into working.

Also, the official Blogger app seems to force-close whenever it attempts to access a Google account. I haven't submitted a bug report, on this, as I'd like to confirm it's not just my handset.

    1. I'll get rid of GAPPs in the next release but I'm not releasing it with source so it should be OK. But I'll get rid of it just to be safe.
    2. Yes this has been fixed as well

  5. Flash the multi touch kernel instead of default

  6. well got it to just had to wipe data and chche

  7. Download keeps failing at around 60mb

    ReplyDelete
  8. Try a download manager, such as DownThemAll or JDownloader. Both of those, and most likely other download managers, should download the file successfully.

  9. headphones still not working :(((

  10. Hi, I would be interested in information about Gingerman v6.1:
    1. softkey to vibrate?
    2. FM radio you have placed?
    3. I can safely use the camera?
    4. I must flash the GAPPS apart?

  11. was bitterly disappointed sound you hear crap, FM radio not working, you have problems with soft, slow ... let's be realistic density problems this project is a lost cause! cast him I believed it but you can not really ... more froyo!

    ReplyDelete
  12. @Anonymous It's not a lost cause... we just need to wait, be patient, and give constructive feedback (and fork the code on github and help if you can!). I waited 6 months to get a stable CM7 on my Samsung Galaxy S.

Just remember, nobody is getting paid to work on CM7 :).

  13. @Anonymous,
i completely agree with Alan...i we suggest changes o report problems i think that in a short of time we could have a nice rom.
Your behaviuor is not constructive for our scope..

  14. I wish I have more overclock option than 691 and 600. mine works well with 650

    ReplyDelete
  15. Sure, the sound distorts etc, but if you turn it down slightly (which is still plenty loud enough for calls/messages) then it's fine. I personally think this ROM is very near perfect. It is without a doubt the FASTEST aftermarket ROM I have used, and has some great features. Like Alan said, no one is being paid to do this, if you want to install non-standard ROMS on your phone then you have to expect teething problems, simple as that!

    ReplyDelete
  16. P.S Obviously some of the issues are isolated. For instance my headphones work fine with this ROM but Patrizio Bassi (above) can't get them to work.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Muttley do you still use the no audio on/off trick to make them work?

    ReplyDelete
  18. @lalit Nice work on the camera bug. I'm having troubles with getting the ROM via ROM Manager - consistently getting 'Unexpected End of Stream'. I presume this isn't a fault with the ROM, but with ROM Manager, but is anyone else getting this?

    ReplyDelete
  19. @Johnny

Try downloading manually from mediafire and flashing

    ReplyDelete
  20. @lalit pretty much what I'm going to do - grab it from Sourceforge, flash manually, just a very odd error, is all.

  21. still not work on my c8150 cdma there always appear popup on my home screen said "the process com.android.phone has stoped unexpectedly. please try again." and there's no coverage..any solution please??:)

    ReplyDelete
  22. Patrizio....No I do not need to do anything to get the headphones to work. They just work as is!

    ReplyDelete
  23. RE: ROM Manager problem. Yes, I had it too. I even had problems downloading the file directly from the link on my PC. It would fail at 60mb just like other people have mentioned. If you grab "Jdownloader" (a download manager) it will download the file without error and it also downloads MUCH faster too. Cheers.

  24. I think their are various version of IDEOS like
    U8150-B
    U8150-c
    U8150-D
    C8150

I can't even install clockwork recovery on my U8150-B, i have to use amonra recovery.
That is why we are getting mixed results from the same rom

    ReplyDelete
  25. Oh, didn't know about the GSM sub-versions, only heard there was two diff digitizers out there & knew about the CDMA variant.

My phone is a U8150-D & the headphones work fine without doing any on/off tricks, no distortion at full volume through headphones either, only through the loud speaker.

Rom Manager flashes Clockwork fine for me but I did get the unexpected end of stream thing downloading 6.1 (6.0 downloaded through Rom Manager fine)

Does anyone have a wiki on the differences between the sub variants? If not perhaps we should start making one, or adding to the U8150 wiki on XDA or something?

    ReplyDelete
  26. The headset's not working on my U8150 with Gingerman v6.1. When I plug in, sound only comes out from speaker, like the headset's not even there.

Love your work, by the way. Thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Take out the battery & report which sub-variant you have, the model number is down the bottom not up the top with the barcodes & mac address - might help sort out the error if all with headphones failing have the same sub-variant

    ReplyDelete
  28. Mine is a u8150-b and gingerman 6 was way too buggy. while gungerman 5 was very stable for me (but not for others).

We should make different variants of roms for different phone. it is a very difficult task.

    ReplyDelete
  29. dev please post some videos and guides on how to make a rom for ideos from scratch so that people can help you.

And please checkout miui roms they are seriously beautiful then ios.

    ReplyDelete
  30. i can have the very first call with headphones using no audio on/off trick. after that it next calls won't use headphones anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  31. No offence "Anonymous" but if you need the Devs to post a guide on how to make an Ideos ROM then I don't think you'll be much help to them! On top of that, it would take them more time to post the guide than it would to work on the project and bring out the next release.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Mine is the u8150-D and Gingerman 6.1 pretty much works PERFECTLY on this phone. The only issue I can think of is the sound distortion through the speaker if volume is set on the highest or second highest setting, anything below that is fine and still plenty loud enough. This distortion is not present when using headphones at all. Very happy, can't wait to see how v7 will be!

    ReplyDelete
  33. @All,
i think this is the best rom available. Has some minor bugs that can be rapidly corrected with OUR support and is very fast (now with 6.1), is also based on android 2.3.4 , the latest version.
Other roms could be more famous , or could have some nice graphical details , but they haven't the latest android version, they usually are based on 2.2 , and this is a big defect form me..
    Cheers Carmelo

  34. with 5.1 battery usage is great

since 6.0 and with 6.1 too battery usage is huge, even with default settings.

i left 8 hrs with aero mode on and i got 30% battery usage. as comparison with 5.1 i get 1-2-3% battery usage.

i had to uninstall 6.x unfortunately. Lalit, any clue?

    @ everyone having this too?

    ReplyDelete
  35. I wholeheartedly agree with the battery issue. I'm thinking of downgrading due to the fact even on stand by it'll generally consume about 10-20% in an hour.

    ReplyDelete
  36. No battery issues, i use the original rom with some programs , i only changed the adw theme and the cyanogenmod theme.

    Cheers Carmelo

  37. People can you PLEASE post the model name when you make comments about problems. It may be an issue specific to the u8150-D for instance as opposed to the u8150-A etc.

The battery issue must be isolated. My phone is the u8150-D and there's no problem with battery. I get 20+ hours of use from the phone with regular use, including occassional web browsing over Wifi and 3G, plus a several short phone calls per day. I've had my phone on for 11 hours now and battery is at exactly half power. I have used 3G, Wifi and phone calls today plus a bit of fiddling around with photos in QuickPic too.

If you disable 3G/wifi when you're not using them that's where you'll save the most battery power. Funnily enough, I actually found Apps such as "Juice Defender" made my battery drain even quicker than if I manually enable/disable data and wifi.

  38. Working fine on my iDeos U8150-D :D

    thanks a lot dude! :D

  39. Hey BlogMaster, what's with removing my previous post? I didn't realise this blog was being CENSORED! I'm pretty sure I didn't say anything to offend you.

    ReplyDelete
  40. @muttly
I didn't remove it. blospot must have automatically done it because you posted a link.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Lalit may i ask you to concentrate the support in a place?

because up to now we have comments, xda forum and sourceforce forums, so info is quite spread.

as comments and xda thread are are to track, what about moving totally to sf.net?

    thanks

  42. could you use another kernel? please dont use xtreme model,i cant use it!!!!!!

  43. hi,there is a big bug, traditional chinese is not available!

    ReplyDelete
  44. This is AWESOME! A couple minor bugs, but this is really getting close to having no-hassle CM7 on the U8150. Keep up the good work.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Traditional chinese characters are broken (some became square instead of the correct characters), even I have put back the SansFallback font from older release, there are still a number of broken characters due to unknown reason.
Also the battery problem here, 8150 HK version (I dont know it is A B C or D)

    ReplyDelete
  46. @Fai Wong
yap this rom lacks DroidSansFallback.ttf in /system/fonts.
you can find DroidSansFallback.ttf from cm7 v4 or v5 and push it in /system/fonts

    ReplyDelete
  47. Another happy u8150-D user here, no battery drain issues or anything just the minor cosmetic clock cut off by weather thing (as mentioned on XDA) and the volume distortion, as Muttley said only on the internal speaker, headphones are fine.

As Patrizio Bassi said, should all the support, bug reports, etc be centralized somewhere, please let us know where

    ReplyDelete
  48. Just know how to check phone revision, mine is 8150B with battery drain problem, it went from full to 20 percents im 3 hours with minimal web browsing, and the battery temperture is about 30 deg C...

    ReplyDelete
  49. Only bugs so far, sound distortion and I can´t get the soft keys to vibrate, that´s kind of annoying, anyone else has that problem?

    ReplyDelete
  50. How can I know which version of the Ideos I have?
Because 5.1 worked better for me.

With 6.0 I cannot start anymore the standard kernel. I have to use the multitouch kernel, even if I have no synaptic touchscreen.
And I don't know if it is multitouch kernel or 6.0, but seldom the touchscreen become mad. I click a part of screen and it receives the click on another zone.

  51. When installing the ClockworkMod Recovery in Rom Manager, I cant see u8150??
    (I have a U8150-D)

    Options are:-

    -------------
    "
    Huawei Pluse Mini
    Dell Streak
    Huawei Pluse
Commtiva Z71 (Boston, Blaze, and more)
    Geeksphone ONE
Spice MI700, Commtiva Link N700 and More)
    Huawei Ascend
    "

Any assistance is appreciated, the more detail the better ;)

    ReplyDelete
  52. Just flash the Ascend one temporarily. After you flash Gingerman you will be able to see the Ideos.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Thanks Lalit, I appreciate the assistance.

Ok, so I flashed the Ascend option...

Then had some hassles with Rom Manager.
Downloaded V.6 manually and installed through RM via SD card, because nothing came up in the 'download rom' section, even after buying the premium version.

    All looks AWESOME!

    Only issue - Wi-fi?
I turn it on, but it doesn't stay on longer then 15 sec's and doesn't register any nearby networks?

Do I need to install any additional drivers or something? How can I get Wi-fi working?

    ReplyDelete
  54. Wi-Fi should work - have you wiped data? And did you flash 6.1 or 6?

    ReplyDelete
  55. I used the manual download link "Main Release - Mediafire Mirror" - So V6.1

I checked the ROM Manager option to wipe data? Was I supposed to manually format the SD card before transferring V6.1 onto it?

    ReplyDelete
  56. I have u8150-B, after flash it, I don't see any GAPP, include Market. I've try remove all GAPPS intergrate, then re-install new Market, it's worked now. So, could you release one rev without GAPPS?
Second thing I want to ask, In clock program, weather screen overlap half digit of clock? How to solve? I've try reduce LCD density to 118, it can show digital, but has blue line. Could you tel me how to fix blue line

  57. In the Live wallpaper, Galaxy wallpaper is not working. when i apply, turns black background and then returns to the previous wallpaper. i think, API is being forcefully closed or something. Can you guys check on this. I lOVE this live wallpaper and dieing to have this on my IDEOS-U8150. Thanks in advance.

  58. When a call connects, it vibrates, about 30 seconds into a call it vibrates and when i hang up it vibrates. This is quite annoying and people on the other side of the phone are like WTF mate? Sound distortion on external speaker, but not if it's brought down about 3 notches. Headphone audio is perfect. I've had GM 6.1 on my Ideos U8150 A for about a week now and its been treating me quite well over all. I've heard talk of multi-touch, does it work well with the low res screen on this phone? If so, how do i install it? Thank you for your time

  60. i am using V6.1 it is awesome i am expecting the next release eagarly waiting for the next patch. when can i get the same.

    thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Hey I have a question
if I have the Gingerman v6 can I update to 6.1 without wiping data?
If not, are you gonna enable this option in a later update?

    Thanks in advance

    ReplyDelete
  62. Замечательно!
    Недостатки:
    Не работает FM радио
Невозможно подключиться к WIFI, если точка доступа непубличная (скрытая) даже при ручной настройке параметров
    Меняется заводской mac address
