Gingerman v6.5.1

Gingerman v6.5.1 has been released! This bugfix release fixes the issue with the updater script which prevented the ROM from being flashed as well as fixing backlight of soft keys and audio as well.

Sorry for the disasterous 6.5 and hope this makes up for it. :)

    My Ideos keeps hanging at the startup screen when rom manager try's to boot into clockwork mod recovery, installing from SD.

    Any suggestions?

    Try booting into recovery manually and flash the zip in /sdcard/clockworkmod/download/cloud.github.com

    So.. I tried to boot into recovery manually and it hung again.

    It would appear I needed to flash clockwork mod for the U8150 after I had to initially flash CWM using 'Ascend' before I could install V6.1.

    Everything looks amazing!

    Thanks for this Rom!!!And as you certainly know, the kernel source for U8160 has been released...now you could make happen multitouch and overclock together...!!!

    I have downloaded Gingerman v6.5.1 from the above link posted above at the top.
    Where on Ideos do I transfer that ZIP file in order to install the update more easily than downloading directly using Data enabled option in Mobile Networks?

    This is THE best. Fastest ROM ever for the Ideos and am yet to have problems with anything. Market 3.0 is cool too!
    Thanks for working on this, you have made this phone 10x better than what it could ever have been otherwise. I feel sorry for people who run Stock Froyo on their Ideos!!

    can you fix it？？ model b， i see a lot people on the net just change the system/fonts/DroidSansFallBack.ttf，and set the permission.after reboot，they have the art word，i tried to do the same thing，but it doesn't work(maybe 10 words can display 8 words.help me！

    Great ROM ever! But, after installation, it connect with right APN (last ROM there aren't) and VODAFONE sucks me 2,50 for 1 day of Mobile Internet!!! :-( I'm afraid for that "donation"...

    Strange, I just attempted to DL from Clockwork ROM manager and it seemed to work fine, except I didn't have enough room on my phone, so I cancelled the DL, deleted some files and when I went back to DL the Rom again, but this time it was on a list of ROMs only accessible to Primuium Users and now I can't DL! What happened between my first attempt and then 4 mins later?

    WiFi does not work with Hidden SSID as before, and this is a serious dearth of
    FM radio is not working
    new market - wait and see
    added launcher is not same color menu
    file manager is better not to become
    produced along with a screenshot of a menu from which to invoke
    In general, improvements are doubtful.

    I have Huawei U8150-D & I installed this but the sound quality was so bad in that..I tried all the sound option in Settings->Sound & Cyanogenmod Settings, but still voice quality is so bad....Please help me for this..

    Can't connect to hidden SSID after upgrading to 6.5.1, on my U8150, otherwise this works great, love it, but please fix this, or I'll have to go back to stock ROM :(

    Huawei released new kernel for gingerbread officially..
    kernel-2.6.35-U8650series-U8510 series-M865-Gingerbread

    I hope it can be use to IDEOS next dev for gingerman although Cyanogen to much buging for gingerman..

    A small problem on 6.5.1, when it is on a call, suddenly both sides of the call will not hear anything (the other side is not IDEOS, land line).
    What I have to do is to wake the phone once, there are 2 cases:
    1. If I am not using earphones, I have to let the phone leave my face, so that the screen turned back on (because the screen will turn off when putting near face), and then the voice will come back.
    2. If I am using earphones, I have to touch the phone, either to go some random apps or switching to other screens, then the voice come back.

    Who have similar issues? Mine is 8150B with 6.5.1

    Cynogen mod on ideos is a dead dream i believe after testing all the builds u have uploaded , i apreciate ur effort , and time u put in to the project but in my opinion it would be wiser to put ur devotion in to something more fruitfull like a new version of froyoman , came across

    its a great release and not buggy as cynogen. i know its not the latest n greatest but i think there are people who are really sick of handling buggs, phone is suppose to work for us not we are suppose to work for the phone. again to the ideos dev team u are the best guys on the block just need to shift ur focus on the right platform . cheers

    Why not put the original launcher from Android 2.3? When the device is first road works for one setup wizard is repeated 2 times and 2 fell

    I would suggest a ROM that i installed and is full working (radio, market,etc..). The rom is called IDEOS HD and is sostantially the Huawei 8180 rom porting on ideos 8150. Is based on Android 2.2.2 but Huawei has planned to release GingerBread for this model. So , if there is some Gingerman user which dislikes this rom because of the bugs, he could try this rom and so can stop with the claims on this site.
    The rom is multilanguage and is available at this url:

    You did it again, just like Froyoman this version it improves the battery life, just 2% after 2 hours (stand by) :) I couldn't believe it till I saw it :)

    @Nic : i think there are issues regarding Gingerbread and HiSuite. This is the reason i still using IdeosHD, were all is working like a charm.

    I have a report:

    if i try to connect to a wifi that is not the last one i've been connected to, either i wait up to 5 minutes to get a connection or i turn wifi on and off a couple of times and then get my connection..

    After flashing the new ROM my 8150 hangs at the boot into. I needed to recover manually to a backup.

    Any ideas how to make it work? Please in n00b language. I'm new to the Android thing andÍ'm dutch (not that good at English) :)

    Ideos Dev Team have indeed made an excellent ROM except that after installing v6.5.1 I'm not able to go into Recoverty Mode.

    Hello Nic, I'm having the same problem as T2000. Despite repeated installs of Clockmod recovery I'm not able to go into Recoverty Mode. Can you please help me somehow get into recovery, I can manage the rest.

    This appears to have bricked my ideos - hung on attempt to boot into recovery mode, now always hangs at that same spot and can't start up at all - have taken battery etc. out but no avail. Not sure what to do :(
